Minara Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Minara collects, uses, shares, and protects information when people use the Minara website, mobile application, integrations, and related services (the “Services”). Minara is a calendar-native event discovery platform that may allow users to discover public events, manage organization calendars, sync personal calendars, upload schedule information, and collaborate with other organizations.

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• individual users who browse, sign up for, or use Minara;

• organization administrators, editors, and members;

• users who connect third-party accounts such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook;

• people whose event information is included in public or organization-managed listings.

• Password or authentication credentials

• Profile photo, school, organization, or affiliation details

• Account preferences and notification settings

B. Calendar and scheduling information

If a user connects a calendar account or manually adds events, Minara may collect and process:

• Event titles

• Time zone information

• Locations

• Descriptions

• Attendee or organizer metadata, if included in synced event data

• Event visibility settings

• Availability information, including free/busy status

Google’s Calendar API allows applications to access calendar and event resources through authorized API Applications. The usage of Google API Services complies with Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including requirements related to consent, limited use, and secure handling of user data.

C. Organization and collaboration information

• Invitations sent, accepted, declined, or expired

5. Public events and visibility settings

Minara may support different visibility levels for events and calendars, including private, organization-only, channel-shared, campus-visible, and public-facing visibility.

Users and organizations are responsible for selecting appropriate visibility settings. If a user or organization publishes an event as public or shares it into a public or semi-public channel, that information may be visible to other users, indexed internally for discovery, and used in recommendation or search features.

6. Google Calendar and other third-party integrations

If a user connects Google Calendar or another third-party service, Minara may receive information from that provider according to the permissions granted by the user.

Google’s API policies require applications to:

• obtain appropriate user consent;

• handle Google user data securely;

• use the data only for disclosed and permitted purposes; and

• follow restrictions in the Google API Services User Data Policy.

7. Legal bases and consent

Depending on the user’s location, Minara may process personal information based on one or more of the following:
